"Mr Isaac Spencer has advised with me as to your conduct in having evicted him from a farm at New Road Side. It appears that my client took the farm as tenant through W. Smith Surveyor of Bradford and that after spending considerable sums of money? between 1st Feb and 17th May? instant on the land and getting into good condition you claimed to be ? ------- and ------- my clients ------- your alleging that he had ? sunfly acted as your agent or knaul. The amount which my client claims for Services of himself and his wife and her damage is £20-0-0 and I ? ------ inform you that unless this amount together with 6/8d my charge on or before Friday next proceedings will commence against you in the County Court to ? Couified? --------"

"Sir,
In due respect and courtesy I write to acknowledge the receipt of your proposal of agreement. I propose to take New Leeds Farm House and ? but House and all appertaining here to for the term of Ten years at the annual rent of £10 provided you make the repairs of the Roads and the building and pay me for the repair of the road 7th May 1860 and pay me for the repairs of the buildings on the 1st July 1860.
If in case you agree please to forward me an agreement according to the above instructions.
